Scarlett Floats!

Scarlett floats! We dipped her in the water on Friday. This wasn’t the ‘everything is finished, formal launch.’ This was a ‘proof of concept’ dip into Mats Mats Bay. I needed to know if my little red car could pull the boat and trailer – yes, she can! I needed to know if my little car could launch and retrieve my Scamp – yes, that worked too. And I really needed to know if Scarlett would float – and, look at her, just sitting pretty in the water.There is more to do: rigging to finish, electrical to work on (the battery seems to have died, no idea why), safety gear to install. Once the rigging is done, I plan to park the boat and trailer over by the orchard and practice putting in the mast and hoisting sail, until I have the hang of it. This way if I drop the mast or anything else I can retrieve it and try again.Lots to learn yet. Lots of tweaks and corrections to make. My goal is to get Scarlett sailing. I will keep you posted!
